I'm a journalist covering news and sports in Oklahoma

I've been working at the OU Daily for over two years, and I've interned with The Oklahoman. I've covered protests, business, campus diversity, Oklahoma football and Sooners softball. This summer, I will intern with News21, doing group reporting on hate groups, hate crimes and their victims.

I asign and edit stories by sports reporters as well as help direct coverage of Oklahoma sports. I handle most of the OU Daily sports desk's social engagement. I also cover softball and football for the desk.

Senior sports reporter, OU Daily | August 2017-December 2017

I covered the University of Oklahoma’s football team. I wrote features, breaking news, game and practice stories. I covered a top four team that was in the national spotlight, and got to cover the Rose Bowl as part of the College Football Playoff I also helped cover President David Boren’s retirement announcement.

Business reporting intern, The Oklahoman | May-August 2017

I wrote a centerpiece story about the Underground, a foot traffic tunnel system, in downtown Oklahoma City, broke news about Frontier Airlines returning to Oklahoma City and co-wrote a story about sex tra cking at truck stops. I covered different events, press conferences and protests including a protest against Braum’s. I also wrote about real estate and did general assignments for the business desk.

Junior sports reporter, OU Daily | January-May 2017

I covered the University of Oklahoma’s softball team as the lead reporter on the beat. I wrote features, breaking news, game previews and game stories. I covered the Big 12 softball conference championship and other tournaments.

Senior news reporter, OU Daily | August-December 2016

I covered the diversity beat, writing features and breaking news. I covered a protest against the Plains All-American Pipeline in Norman, a Black Lives Matter candlelight vigil in Oklahoma City, a protest march against State Question 777 and an election night watch party with tweets, live blogging and stories.
